Academic Documents
  • Grade 10 and 12 National exam certificates

  • Complete High School Transcript (Grades 9-12)

  • English proficiency test results (IELTS/TOEFL)

Application Materials
  • Personal essay or study plan (if required)

  • 2-3 Recommendation Letters from teachers

  • Updated CV highlighting achievements

  • Copies of any Awards, Certificates or Publications

  • Sponsorship letter with supporting bank statements

  • Valid passport (minimum 1 year validity)

  • Recent passport-sized photographs

  • Medical examination certificates (if required)

  • Police clearance certificate (for some institutions)

Important Notes
  • All academic documents must be properly notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Ethiopia before submission. This authentication process is mandatory for the Chinese student visa application.

General Information About Studying In China

Step 1: Program Selection
  • Choose your desired course and university

  • Submit all required application documents

Step 2: Application Processing
  • Pay applicable processing fees

  • Sign necessary agreements

  • Complete any required online exams/interviews

Step 3: Post-Acceptance
  • Receive admission letter and pre-enrollment certificate

  • Translate and legalize all documents (notarized by MOFA Ethiopia)

Step 4: Visa Preparation
  • Schedule appointment at Chinese Embassy in Addis Ababa

  • Prepare all visa application materials

  • Completed COVA Visa Form (online at cova.mfa.gov.cn)

  • Admission Letter from Chinese institution

  • JW201/JW202 Form (provided by university)

  • Notarized academic documents (highest diploma & transcripts)

  • Recent passport photo

Submission Process
  • Apply online via visaforchina.org

  • Submit documents in-person/mail to Chinese Embassy

  • Track application status using provided reference number

  • Collect passport with visa sticker when approved

  • Register at local police station within 24 hours
